Hudson Baylor Opens State-of-the-Art South Windsor, CT Facilty

January 01, 2006

Nutmeg Recycling LLC, a subsidiary of Hudson Baylor Corporation, is proud to announce the opening of its state-of-the-art recycling facility located at 300 Rye Street in South Windsor, CT. At the grand opening, Hudson Baylor President Scott Tenney, was proud to announce that Nutmeg Recycling has “improved our efficiency, augmented throughput, all while increasing sight logistics for our customer.” Nutmeg is using only 100,000 square feet of the building, leaving over 65,000 sq ft open for leasing and expansion opportunities. Nutmeg Recycling would like to thank all who made the opening possible, especially the Town of South Windsor, who was instrumental in securing a Connecticut Brownfield grant for the property. These grants give incentive to companies who are interested in cleaning up and reinvesting in barren, yet potentially productive, property. These grants can take development pressures off of undeveloped, open land, and both improves and protects the environment. Nutmeg Recycling would also like to thank, Marathon Baler, S&S, Baling Technologies – without their knowledge and superior technological expertise this project would not have been possible. The facility houses two glass beneficiating systems, including an optical sorting system which uses advanced technology to separate mixed glass into three colors. Optical sorting, a technology used primarily in Europe, has successfully been spreading throughout the United States and Nutmeg Recycling. We also have the ability to handle, store, and process high volumes of cardboard, aluminum, and PET.
