An Aluminum Problem: Anheuser-Busch
Anheuser-Busch (AB) is one of the biggest recyclers on the aluminum market. AB buys scrap aluminum to be made into new
cans, but for some of their smaller distributors and accounts, recycling cans was an impractical, expensive service. AB wanted to help them while guaranteeing the flow of scrap aluminum.
Returned cans must be flattened, since it is inefficient to ship loose, unflattened cans for recycling purposes. AB provides their smaller clients with machines to flatten the cans and a trailer to collect the cans during the process. But AB needed to outsource the transportation and processing of the cans.
This is where Hudson Baylor stepped in. We go to AB's smaller distributors and pickup, bale the flattened cans and then ship them to AB's aluminum mills. In the process, we provide the expertise that AB needs to provide big-company service to smaller clients. We enable these clients to efficiently recycle, and we ensure that the aluminum mills have the product they need when they need it.
